Gone with the Age

By almiles
Farm house on Dava moor. Deserted for a few decades. As the tennants moved out Lochindorb estate hasn't re-let, I think for grouse shooting reasons. Not the friendliest of estates, I've been challenged by aggressive gamekeepers a couple of times. An extra reason for spikes on my tripod WinkGrin
This is the first image I've shot with mono in mind rather than as a processing afterthought.

An excellent b/w image, Alan - and full of atmosphere.
It really does look an uninviting place, it has to be said!

The black n white really brings out the ominous feel to this amazing image, I love the grass in the foreground like we are hiding from what lerks in the cottage and barn. Well done as always, and I am still laughing about the spiked tripod!Wink

Yes, very moody and interesting. I quite often go out with the intention of shooting in b&w (especially if I've got a film camera with b&w film in it....Grin ). Probably a consequence of being colour-blind, I'm never 100% sure my colour shots look right.
This is just the sort of scene I would be on the lookout for, lots of interesting textures and a full range of tones from white through the greys to black. Nice work.

Nice mono Al , like how the grass in the foreground stands out and the rest of the image really suits the mono style , not to keen on how dark the sky is , that's me being a bit harsh because as normal it's a very accomplished photograph , you must be looking forward to the girls going to NY ,I know I am , bit of piece and quite eh ,will give you a buzz soon to compare notes. Kel.

Cheers Kel! Sky was a deep blue hence so dark in the mono but I take your point! Look forward to catching up Smile
