All Ruffled Up

By alpha788
I was fortunate to get a companion shot to my earlier posting of a female Red-Winged Blackbird displaying her wings. This is a male of the species, and he certainly seems to be ruffled up about something - probably me trying to sneak up on him. Could be a tad sharper but for all the ruffling motion he was going through. Should have used a faster shutter speed I guess. Nevertheless I thought it was still an interesting image.

Thanks for stopping by. Your comments and clix on my recent postings are much appreciated!

Always a puzzle Stan trying to decide whether to freeze wing movment entirely or slow down a touch to give a suggestion of movement. I think you have it about right in this lovely shot.

Hey!!! You stole my Red-Winged Blackbird!!! Either that, or he's making one heck of a journey every day! LOL

A gorgeous bird. It's always a pleasure to have them around.

Glad to see that you're gradually building up to the blinding colors instead of a shocker right off the bat. Smile

Can be very difficult to get the blacks to look natural in sunlight. You have done a great job here.
