I would stick to available light and not bother with the flash, try to get a bright but slightly overcast day. Make sure they are comfortable however you place/pose them... -
Should I ask for money?
As a minimum, insist that the shots have your name on them as the photographer. -

Nice shot, but as said above possibly get lower and maybe take it from the corner to get the side in aswell.
