African Fish Eagle

By Maiwand
African Fish Eagle (halinaeetus vocifer)
This bird is named as 'Othello' and he is one of the perfomers in the displays at my favourite place- Hawk Conservancy Trust. In this shot he is practising his skills as a fish catcher. When I look at those talons I am glad I am not a fish.!! I got him just a tad early I'm afraid but I still like it.
I made no attempt to remove the strap on his leg. Its a captive bird and I would not try to hide it.

Tremendous thanks to all for the stunning response to the Kingfisher. Particular thanks to Ju (Jubarney) and Nuri (Senn) for the UA's.
Very very short of time at the moment so please excuse mostly votes not comments.

Great image Ron.

The speed of his attack has taken a little of your usual sharpness away, but still quite special.
