I really like this. Definite autumnal feel and air of mystery. I look at this and half expect some maiden of the lake to rise from the water!
Nicely done.

Thanks Paul. I think the panning gives it a misty look althought it was a bright sunny day . I had to use a polariser to get the shutter speed down slow enough for the panning to register.

A wonderful image, very dreamy, good colour and the composition works well for this type of effect

Hi Andy, - panned shots of trees and forests have a terrific dreamy look, - reminiscent of old masters paintigs.

It works best if you are sqaure to the line of trees, - so you have avoid having the rising line thats at the bottom of this shot. It looks fine, but I think it would look better with this technique.

Thanks for the feedback Stuart & Willie. I like you mod Willie and will try your 'square on' technique next time I am down by the canal. (I was hampered by the lack of a tripod and had to use the handrail on a bridge over the canal as a base to support the camera while I panned - will definately take the tripod next time!)

In my way of thinking and seeing - I think that andhart's image is brilliant and would only make 1 very slight change to the heavy lines across the tree because the lines stand out too much distracting from the serenity of the image - otherwise the image has a serene walk way through the trees and water reflection - it has a magical, mystical look about it - It's brilliant!
In symbolic terms - the meaning perhaps would be that even in the most serene places - destruction and distraction interfers

This is creative excellence. Judging by others seen in the past, this one takes the cake. TG
