Well spotted.
I might of cropped out a little of the foreground.

Likewise I think the foreground detracts from the 'quilt'

Could you not have moved forward to the edge of the grass and then looked down into the fields ?

The contrast between all the different colours is good.

Whereabouts in West Sussex is this ?

Thanks for the comments

Sadly the barbed wire stopped me from getting to close so I took this standing on my car...I've actually just checked and it's more Hampshire, it's on the A72 heading towards West Sussex from Winchester.

I might try cropping it.

Perfect title, Andy. My instant thought was 'quilt like.'

Great photo!

Shame about the barred wire.

Have not been that way yet this year - but I know the stretch of road and there are some really good photographic locations along it.

Parking is a bit of a problem though but the car park at Cheesefoot Head is worth a visit if you have not already beeen there.

love the colours and shapes but I think the foreground weakens the composition
- click for spotting it, and for the image minus foreground

Is this nature's work or is it planted? Whichever, it's a good shot.
click.

Thanks for all the comments.....ok so it's the Farmers Patchwork Quilt Smile...doesn't have the same ring to it though Smile

I never quite get round to stopping at Cheesefoot Head so maybe next time I go through I will.

Thanks again

Andy
