In the Picture mono

By johnlw
Hi when I shot this in RAW I had areal problem I tried Daylight for my white light balance. I thought It looked good then I tried Tungsten and that looked better then i tried mono and thought in my opinion that looked great. So I'm going to put this mono on see what everyone else thinks i thought it worth a go.
Thanks for the votes on my graffiti or art shot have a good week.

Thanks for your opinions that I value. On thirty four voting on colour or mono in the first twenty four hours it comes out even.
Again it shows me you can't beat RAW I potentialiy got three mages out of one shot by just adjusting W/B. I've only shown two as I think that's enugh.Smile
Regards John.

Whilst I think this B and W presentation works well, having referred back to the colour version, I think I prefer it as it seems to have an extra factor that is difficult to quantify and qualify in words.
It is certainly an excellent composition and I shall return later to see what others think.

It would be good to see your other versions, John, just out of interest.
I do like this mono image, the composition and the way you are drawn into the scene.

Thanks Ronnie I think the thing that probably stands out for me in both of them is the smoothness of the Image at ISO 3200. I was used to altering the noise at ISO 200 under these conditions.

Have just looked at the colour version (missed it last Sunday - holidays) and it seems to have more impact.

Hi John This version is also very good, and it can not be different cos the frame is built here just great. But honestly speaking I prefer the color version ... Color gives very beautiful night tint to the image and I like this very much ...

I think in this case, the mono works. It creates a stillness that gives the eye a chance to see the wonderful lines. In the color version, it's all about the blue.

Looks very interesting in mono. Gives it a certain mystery "feel".

I have to say that I reaaly prefer the colour version of images but I do have to admit that mono in this instance has certainly added an extra dimension to very good effect.GrinGrinGrinGrinGrin
