Good morning.....another Monday is upon us
Thank you for all your votes and comments , hope you are not tired of my Wildlife yet as i have a few more to come.
A huge Thank you to carol for her UA, much appreciated....
I have been to the Game lodge at least 15 times and had never come across a Serval. This time we came across two on separate drives. Both times the sun had already set so it was almost dark when I captured the images.
A Serval is a medium sized Wildcat related to the Caracal. It is one of the tallest cats. It has the longest legs of any cat relative to their body size. Their pattern of the fur is variable. Spotted black on tawney with stripes from its head down to his neck. They have very large ears and have an acute sense of hearing. We were lucky enough to watch it hunting for mice but did not witness the kill.

I am only uploading V2 as a back view just to show the stripes on the head and also how long its legs are when standing.

This must be a rare sighting Colleen !! Such a beauty in a good condition !! I love the alert pose in V2. We have a cloudless sky here - so I am sure you guys should see the clouds lift and be able to enjoy the mountain !!
