very beautiful. Perhaps it's the combination of the rather rudimentary setting, and the girl's looks lacking typical modern day characteristics that gives the photo a timeless look and takes it away from the family album shot. beautiful tonality. seems a bit oversharpened on my workscreen, but perhaps it's just this screen.

Thanks Koen. Maybe it is not your screen. I still battle with sharpening, and eye-ball the stages, with that last little JPG tweak for epz. I find the preparation for printing, and the above, still Greek. Thanks for your comments. The wall behind her is a textured red, which I knew will assist in the composition as a bare backdrop.

This has been my best day on EPZ. Thank you to all who have visited and left their comments. Most members seem to agree on the 'feeling' of the photo. I am glad, for this time my 'pre-shutter' expectations came true. Which is not often the case. Message of the day: Carry your camera at all times. I shall invest in a little point-and-shoot, as some unexpected situations only beg to be captured, never mind the hardware or pixel count. This time I was lucky. Regards, Andre

Yes this is gorgeous - it captures Nell so well!...I'm her aunt!!...is there a way I can buy this picture?

Dear Jo! So unnusual to see such a comment! Thanks for getting in touch, and I am sure that getting Nell's pic over to you will be no problem. If you reside in Paris please ask her mom for the larger files that I emailed earlier today. They can be printed large. If not, still speak to her mom, who shall then contact me by email, and we will arrange something. Regards, Andre
