Vrystaat: Auntie Lena's quite severe stare.

I was shooting away inside Erika's caravan when she was all of a sudden standing in the doorway.
Well, this remarkable face of hers is not something I come across frequently, and I managed to get some photos of her right there and then. I cropped this one closely, as there were annoying background highlights that I could not manage, but mainly because I wanted to show her face up close.
Here she is standing against the caravan's door, with filtered sunlight coming from behind.
She is not quite the smiling type, but nevertheless told me a bit about her life. From what I gather she used to work in some garden nursery before, and now receives a state pension. Her husband, who worked the pine plantations, died many years ago.

Looks like she'd stand for no nonsense. I feel she must like you to allow you take such an intimate portrait.

Thank you for the comments. I mistakenly titled this image Sera - should have been Lena. Corrected now.
