I like the 50/50 split of the horizon and the low viewpoint. The comp may have been improved by having the shell on a third though.

50/50 split is ok but as Paul said above, the shell needs to be to one side.

I also think the shell should be closer to the camera and a little but more contrast dialled in via curves.

The sense of space in this is amazing, I like it a lot and just as it is too with the shell in the middle

Wow this is so simple but effective - what a great idea. A lovely composition with soft tones & hues that just pull you in to the image.
