Worsborough Mill

By andy_AHG
A set of images from Worsborough Mill in Barnsley, just down the hill from home.

There has been a lot of snow in Barnsley, and the Council don't seem to be doing much about gritting the roads. I was getting a bit fed up with being housebound by snow and work, so took a quick slide down the hill (very literally) to Worsborough Mill as the light was looking good. Where I was surprised to find the reservoir completely frozen over.

The mill building looked rather idillic covered in snow. Spoiled somewhat by the heras fencing surrounding it.

Thanks very much for your comments.

Nice one, Andy.

Pity about that awful fence, as you say. Very inconsiderate of them to leave it there; don't they know there's a photographer about! Wink

Beautiful shot. Looks cold yet warm at the same time! Shame about the fence as you say but doesn't take anything away from the image.

This is Barnsley Bill. They wouldn't care! It's a miracle there's not a burnt out car in the yard.

Well, there's a light on the wall and can you just see the waves lapping around the back of the building?!

Lovely image but its a shame the fence is there, it would be a really wonderful shot without it, can you not get it down.

On the other hand maybe best not to

I agree about the fencing but you can't change that. It is a super shot, capturing the bleak beauty of this long cold spell. Cheers.

I agree about the fencing as well but it's part of the scene, otherwise a cracking image with the light just right,

Lovely light. Makes the house look welcoming despite the fences.

I think the fence kinda add to the sense of entrapment with the snow !

Gorgeous tones.
