Lake district - My first time, Day 1

Lake district - My first time, Day 1
30 May 2018 10:17AM Views : 892 Unique : 427Last week (21st May) I decided to take a last minute trip to the Lake District, specifically Keswick. I had the week off work as the original plan was to have a short break with my partner at the time. Alas, we parted ways and I decided to make the most of the week off rather than sulk in my pyjamas all day!
I've never been to the Lake District before, and googling can prepare you only so much. I decided to use Air B&B to find a play to stay for a very low price, rather than an expensive hotel. (Prices were so high!). The house I ended up staying at was at the South end of Derwent Water in a picturesque village called Grange. I did not realise just how close it was to Derwent Water, and only a 10 minute drive into the town of Keswick. Ideal location.
My first day was eye opening! I knew the landscape was beautiful but I was totally captivated by it, the rolling hills, huge fells and massive bodies of water. I couldn't stop my mouth hanging open in amazement.
I met a local photographer I had known for some time, Sean Howell (his images are incredible, there is a link to his instagram on my Youtube video). He drove me to a few excellent spots and told me other places to visit, as he was only free till 4pm that day. my other two days were to be alone.
The first day was rushed as he wanted to get me to a many places as possible before he left, but I still managed to get several useable images and some local knowledge! We went to Ashness Bridge, Surprise View, Honniston Pass and Buttermere lake. Then we parted ways. For the rest of the day I decided to slow down, go back to Ashness Jetty and get a sunset photo there. Below is the image of the sunset on Day 1, and one of the few images I am proud to share.
After sunset, I went into Keswick to have a well deserved bit to eat and beer!
As always, I filmed my day for my VLOGS on my Youtube. Day 1 can be seen HERE.
