Quote:I would have liked the train leaving about half an engine back so it had room to move into.

Fair comment though I was concentrating more on getting the full plume of smoke it has certainly left the buffers a bit close to the bottom of the frame.

Probably one of the biggest non-competative but unknown sports out there, do a search for HHH groups in your area and I'll bet you will be surprised. On any ordinary Sunday we'll have 80 people out running off road following a trail laid in sawdust and on a couple of weekday nights it'll be head torches and a flour trail (shows up better in the dark) at this time of year. No use for getting fit since each trail usually starts and finishes at a pub and drinking is all but mandatory but its social sport of the best kind and I'd recommend it to anyone.

Excellent shot, I was there in the crowd and conditions were not perfect but you did well to get such a clean and clear shot.

Thank you for your kind comments.
222 pictures taken, with a number of useable images, and a set of AA's in the flash. Some things are easier and so much cheaper to achieve using digital capture. Not much in the way of manipulation afterwards. I found the technique in Strobist

Thanks for the comments. Alciabides, I can see your point and now wonder if the colour version with its blue sky might have been a better choice.

Unusually for me (B&W) I actually prefer the colour version, the muted tones do help with the etherial feel of the picture. Very nice.

  • Some of those wedding poses are great, fresh and clean. Good mix of B&W and colour.
