A Holly Blue Butterfly

By andymark
Not the best photo in the world but I saw this little chap at the top of a tree and everytime it fluttered off it landed back in the same place. Have not seen one before so had to go climbing. I managed to get one shot before I slipped out of the tree. I hope you like it. Thanks for all previous comments and clicks.

Lovely shot Andy, I hope you didn't hurt yourself, well worth the effort though.

Nice shot Andy.
The stile and composition of your last two uploads to me do look better than this one but still a good shot.

Lucky you, Andy! (Lucky for getting the pic, not for slipping out of the tree!). I haven't seen one yet this year. Yours is a female here, the male has much more black on the edge of his top wingtips. Better to get whatever shot you can, and you did very well. They are beautiful butterflies.

Well earned if challenging success from the sounds of things! A really lovely butterfly. You've captured the colour and detail very well. Hope you are OK after that fall?
