An English Scene

By Andysnapper
Morning and Happy Easter,

A little slice of the Lakes today, a mountain, a stream and an arched bridge. This is along Wastwater in Wasdale, one of my favourite Lake District dales.
This was taken with my Rolleiflex Automat on Kodak Ektar colour print film. The problem with a hybrid film/digital workflow is you are introducing another, imperfect, optical element to the process, the scanner. This means that you do not get to see the full wonderfullness of the negative. The amount of detail in them is unbelievable, every pebble on the bank, even in the shadows, is visible, every leaf on the gorse bush is resolved, highlights and shadows are full of detail and they are pin sharp. I really like film photography. Grin

Cheers all, have a good weekend, I'm working today but I do get tuesday off instead, GrinGrinGrin

Super landscape Andy and I do agree with you film is still a better medium, digital is slowly catching up but will still take time to get the resolution on to a sensor. Of course it so much easier and that's the attraction.....John

A great scene and well done on the processing too. I was stood (literally) in that very river at my visit last month but looking downstream towards Scafell and the surrounding mountains. Its a perfect place for sure for photography..Phil SmileSmile
