Always keeping an eye out for these cool creatures but not had much luck lately and have been laid up a bit with bad knee , tried again the other day and just as i was about to give up spotted this little fellow , not a very big example but he did pose well , enjoying my new zoom lens which made this shot a lot easier than trying to creep up with my 105 macro , not as sharp but pleased with its versatility , cheers for looking , off on hols for 2 weeks so catch up when i get back , stay well everyone , Kel - ps hope you get lucky H

A good shot, Kel - not as sharp as you wanted but the shadows and legs have come out well!
I have the same lens and I think it's a superb piece of kit!
As long as you remember to get the shutter speed at least equal to the focal length then you're, usually, fine regarding movement and all that.
Only down side is it's a bit heavy - particularly in your hand luggage on a plane!!
Hope your knee is recovering!
Regards,
Richard

Great shot Kel, it's not as easy as it looks and you have done a fine job here! Didn't find a dragon fly but found many damsels which made for good photography!

Hi Kel good capture and a nice lens I know all about making do. It's a lot easier with the right kit.
Great detail in those wings lovely shadow and contrast. It would do for me.
Regards John,
