Clock Sculpture in the Peoples History Museum, Manchester, UK

By AngelaSeager
Had a Mum and Daughter's day yesterday with Mum in the city centre. We visited The People's History Museum, John Rylands Library, Lincoln Square, with Abraham Lincoln's Statue, and Deansgate with Chopin's Statue. We love out little days out together.....
The image today is a sculpture by Anthony Bennett (1994) and depicts the changing relationship workers had with time during the Industrial Revolution. Four figures (2 mill workers, a slave worker, and a child labourer) hang on to and try to resist the relentless turning of the clock hands. The original sculpture, made from stone has been cropped and digitally enhanced, trying something new with colour......
