Sleeping Tawny Owl (Strix aluco)

Thank you to everyone who commented and voted on my last upload

this is a another first for me taken at the weekend. A wild Tawny Owl sleeping although he die open his eyes for a quick look then promptly went back to sleep ( treating me with the contempt I deserve no doubt ). Not the best of pics but did have low light ( that's my excuse and I am sticking to it ) but he just looks so cute I thought he deserved a outing.

A little fact about Tawny owl s is they are the only owls that has a the traditional hooting call in the Uk. All the rest are screeches. but they do have a wide range of calls including screeching
