Waxwing (Bombycilla garullus)

Thanks everyone for voting and comments on last weeks images.

Todays image is a first for me. both in seeing and Photographing. taken on Saturday this Waxwing (Bombycilla garullus) really seemed to like his picture being taken. Or was he Intoxicated !!!!!!!

Quote from the Collins Bird Guide " In winter can eat frostbitten and semi- fermented berries. which can intoxicate the bird and render it temporarily incapable of flight"

!!! I wonder whether they fall off their perches when in this state? I know I would Grin

They are usually distant so you may be right. They do tolerate us and our camera after fermented berries. This is a rich quality waxwing image you made here. I think he is a Bohemian version. TG
