Oh I love washing-line shots - insights into people's lives. But here I'm looking at the man, he could be inspecting a guard of honour.
Some nice processing here. Just to be a wee bit picky (I am, I am... ) I suspect that you've done a certain amount of skewing and to my eye the top left corner is drawn out a bit too far. I'd rather see a slight inward lean in the left side of that window, to balance the right of the image and to appear a bit more natural from our low viewpoint.
If you haven't skewed of course then I'm imagining things and need to go and lie down for a bit...

No need to lie down Moira Smile - I did do some skewing and haven't quite got it, as you say. I'll have another shot to see if I can improve on it.

Ann, I use skewing quite a lot ( Wink ). But when a shot is obviously taken from a lower viewpoint I think it's more natural to the eye to keep a hint of convergence.
A spot of Correct Distortion will also correct the barrel distortion, in my software it's under Filters; but you do lose a bit of frame as a result.

My grandmother considered the way one hung out the wash to be an art form....after all every passerby could see it. Obviously this person is in the same camp....
A very fine slice of life, made even more interesting by the man with very fine muscles Smile

Trust Mick to spot the E cup!

I have a whole series on washing lines in Venice so of course I love this shot. Not sure whether I'm thinking 'great minds think alike' or 'fools rarely differ'. You choose!

Trust Mick to notice the dimensions Tongue
I can't help thinking of the many, many scenes of 'Last of the Summer Wine' played out beneath Nora Batty's washing in Holmfirth . . . . Stays with a power of their own!

May I leave the technical side to Moira, just this once? I would never dare to accuse her of being skewed!

A piece of work which to the blind eyed photographer would have no appeal, however you have captured something so very special, a photograph which is so wonderfully composed, full of charm, character, and that little slice of "jean sa qua?"

she probably did her white wash first, colors next--
One could only rarely dry their wash this way where I live-- It might come in wetter than when it was put out, and most certainly harboring some sort of bugs.

Good to know Christopher's knee is better, Ann, but pity about the trip Sad

Excellent timing you've got here with the guy walking into the shot!

I love this kinda shot - a slice of life Smile So much texture and detail here too.

It's funny what people take for granted 'cos I took some shots a while back and they show how clothes are hung from public flats over here (although that's not why I took the shots). To me, they're everyday life. But you've inspired me to look for them and if they exist, I might upload a couple!

Could only be Mick's comment Grin

I wonder if everything is hand-washed, if so, it must be a day's work, well captured, Ann. Carol
Id have settled for 1 full washing line Ann and not counted the pegs, excellent capture,
Fred.
Well I'll take your word on it, if you say 75 that's good enough for me, It's ironing I'm thinking of, good capture showing true to life.

Love this one - a good eye to have spotted this - skewing! maybe, that's for picky judges who cant see the picture albeit true - always a worthwhile exercise in PS skills - I use it and the others often in buildings but somehow it doesn't look like what I saw at the time
Brings a whole new meaning to "she's pegged it"!!!! LOLWinkWink
