The salmon bothy

By AnnChown
This old salmon bothy is very near Stoer lighthouse (the image I uploaded a few days ago). If you look very carefully you can see Harris, the Outer Hebrides on the horizon on the right of the image (around 60 miles away).
Thanks for looking and for any suggestions/criticisms you may have.
A big thank you to Hugh (morpheus 1955) for his UA for Luskentyre abstract which is very much appreciated.
Ann
As a PS, as two of you have mentioned the clothes pegs, there are two others on the line which you may not be able to see. They are bright red, so I desaturated them a bit as I thought they took my eye to them too much. Perhaps I should have left them in.... Anyway - more clothes pegs tomorrow! Smile

.. and the clothes pegs still on the line! Superb capture. Like that sky very much and what a change from the endless greys here lately!

I love that clothes peg!

There is sufficient contrast for this to work in monochrome, I think. It's a classical composition.

I like the idea of the clothes pegs being there, I'm trying to imagine them red. The pegs give such a homely, domestic feel. I remember once being up on Calton Hill, Edinburgh, when the custodian of one of the monuments (the one that looks like cotton reels balanced one on top of the other) had hung washing out on the line and the dustbin was waiting for collection - just added to the strangeness of the place.

Looks a rather lonely isolated and windswept spot, Ann, with what little vegetation there is just hanging on by the tips of their roots (I know, I talk a lot of tommy rot at timesSmileWink).
And I can imagine that in winter conditions there might be inhospitable to say the least.
I do like the idea of there being a clothes line and pegs.......brings such a homely element to the scene.

A well-balanced composition Ann. Not really bothered about the clothes pegs, it's the fantastic sky that stands out for me, and the texture of the building echoed in the clouds. It looks bleak, weather-beaten and beautiful there.

An image, which screams out two words 'talent' and 'quality'. As for the clothes pegs, I personally would keep them hanging.

Looks just as impressive in colour as in mono
The blues of the sky and the little yellow flowers all show nicely along with peggy in this subtle colour image.
