365 Day 119 - A visit to the port cellars

No visit to Oporto would be complete without a visit to the Port Cellars and that is what we did this morning. All of the big port producers are situated here in Oporto, or to be more accurate right across the river in Gaia. The reason for this is that the Oporto side gets the sun all day long and a cooler temperature is required for the production of port. After a short boat ride down the River Duoro, a visit to a very ornate church and a wander through the old port of Oporto, it was down to the Ferreira port cellars for a tour and tasting of both ruby and white port. The second picture might be how I saw this traditional port boat after the tasting!

Photoshop indeed! This was created by zooming the lens as I took the shot, I took half a dozen and this was the only one that was half reasonable! I'm not clever enough to work out how to do this with iPhoto on my iPad!
