365 Day 137 - Bayards Cove Fort

20 May 2014 1:38PM   Views : 275 Unique : 233

Bayards Cove Fort is a small artillery fort build by order of King Henry V111, as part of a programme of coastal defences to defend the Dartmouth Harbour from attacks by the French. The interior has a cobbled floor and gun holes all round the tower at floor height. Today it is maintained by English Heritage and this is one of the venues used during the Dart Music Festival, weather permitting of course as it has no roof!
