365 Day 188 - Another beastie

I have a huge pot of lilies on the patio which are at their best just now and the plan today was to photograph them with my macro lens, which I did and this is the result.

Then just as I was thinking of packing everything away I spotted this creature on the ground. It is quite big, though not quite as big as my spider, probably 3 cm long and as I hadn't seen one before I googled 'British insects' It seems that it is a Longhorn Beetle, or Leptura maculate to give it it's proper name, apparently fairly common in gardens in the summer. Goodness knows what it does to the plants, just as long as it keeps away from my lilies!
