13 Jul 2014 10:00PM Views : 283 Unique : 210Anybody following this blog will be sick of flowers but I'm not going to apologise, at the end of the day it is my blog and I like my flowers! These day lilies last such a short time, just a day, hence their name and as I said in an earlier post, even when we have had some quite breezy days, some of the evenings have been nice and still, perfect for photographing flowers. This plant is right in the middle of a border so not easy to get close to with my macro lens. Also as my lens is 105mm and my camera is a D7000, so a crop sensor camera, the lens is too long to get close ups of whole flowers this size, so a good excuse to try out a longer zoom, in this case 70 - 300. This worked really well as I have a minimum focusing distance of about 1.5 meters at 300 mm which enables me to fill the frame with the flower. Quite pleased with this one.
