365 Day 37 - Rannoch Moor
6 Feb 2014 11:50AM Views : 262 Unique : 2127am start and I was awake at 4.15 only to discover that I only had instant coffee in the room and they had forgotten the teabags! We headed out to Rannoch Moor, the intention being that we would be there and set up in time for the sunrise about 8am. The closer we got the lower the cloud seemed to get but ever the optimist, Colin insisted that once the cloud base lifted and the sun added some light to the fairly dreich landscape that it would make all the difference. Only a short walk this morning, along the side of the road and then down to the edge of the loch. It was a little boggy in places but not nearly as bad as yesterday and I managed to stay upright!
There are potentially some stunning shots to be had in the right light but we didn't have the right light and it wasn't until we were heading back through Glencoe for a late breakfast that we saw any real light starting to bring the mountains to life.
The weather has completely closed in now and I suspect that when we meet again at 12, our planned trip to Glen Nevis will be swapped for a critique session.
Tomorrow's forecast looks better and so another early start is planned. The intention is that we head back into Glencoe to get some real mountain shots, really looking forward to that but for now, this is probably the best of today's pictures.
