365 Day 39 - Back to Rannoch Moor

We started off back at Rannoch Moor as the cloud base was higher and we hoped to get better shots of the snow clad mountains. Actually though there had been a fair covering of snow overnight so we were able to get one or two snowy mountain scenes. Although I love the Rannoch Moor landscape I found today's location fairly tricky as there were too many little islands in the loch to get the clean simple shots that I wanted with separation between the different islands and bits of land. I looked behind me and saw this tree with the sun trying to get through the clouds. It lasted all of 10 seconds but I managed to get this shot, probably my best of today. After breakfast we had a critique session, very useful. One thing that Colin suggests is a 3 x 4 format for portrait shots and I must admit if does make a difference to the shots I have tried it with.
The plan this afternoon was to go down to Port Appin and Castle Stalker however when we got there it was so wet that most of us restricted ourselves to a few shots with our iPhones then back into the car! Colin is an advocate for Bowmore Whisky and we are all congregating in the lounge at 6 o'clock to sample a dram! Probably the best thing we can do on a day like today!
