365 Day 69 - Natural History Museum
10 Mar 2014 10:12PM Views : 274 Unique : 225Today I was off to the Natural History Museum in London which Sam's class outing. They are doing a project on fossils, dinosaurs and the like so they were finding out about what these creatures ate, how they moved and what evidence there was to support their conclusions.
As many of the children have siblings, not too many parents were able to go to help supervise the 2 classes that were making the trip so a willing grandmother was welcomes with open arms. I knew that I was likely to have as small group to keep tabs on but what I didn't realise was that I would have sole responsibility for them whilst we were there. It is a busy place with many schools visiting today so I suppose it wasn't really feasible to move around as a whole group and to be fair, they were well behaved and were as keen to keep me in their sight as I was to keep tracks on them. In the morning the children had a worksheet to follow based on creatures they would find in the Fossil Gallery and Dinosaur Gallery but after lunch we could go where we liked and the consensus was marine mammals and creepy crawlies. I did take a couple of pictures of my little group but I am not allowed to publish them anywhere, so todays picture is of the Central Hall of the Natural History Museum.
