365 Day 70 - Not all golf and grandchildren.

Looking over my posts for the last few weeks it seems that golf and grandchildren have featured more often than anything else so just to prove that there are other things in my life, I have gone back to flowers today.

Most of my flower pictures have been taken indoors but just lately I have been trying out my macro lens outside when conditions are right. I usually try to have the camera on a tripod and as my central column and legs that splay further than normal, I have been able to get reasonable low. Today though I wanted to get right down on the ground with the camera on a beanbag to photograph some hyacinths that I had grown indoors last year then thrown into the garden when the flowers were past. I wasn't sure even where I had put them until they came up and the flowers this year are better than ever. The images are quite soft and this was intentional. I was trying to get the softer, dreamier effect that some of our EPZ members achieve, not sure I quite managed that, but I will keep experimenting! I have also de-saturated the colours slightly to try to soften the tone of the flower and the background. Taken at f3.2 and ISO 320 to get a faster shutter speed as there was just a little bit of wind blowing.
