365 Day 88 - Gloucester photoshoot

Had a brilliant day today. The DVJ (Documentary and Visual Journalism) group of the RPS were having a photo shoot in the centre of Gloucester. I am a member of the RPS but not the DVJ group, but that didn't matter as it was open to all. I've always been slightly anxious about taking photographs in the street so this was a great opportunity to do your own thing but still be part of a group. The last Saturday of the month, so there were lots of people around and the sun was shining! The town crier was out, there was a chap on stilts, a couple of people covered in silver paint who suddenly jump out at you as you pass as well as several buskers so there was plenty to photograph, not to mention all the little alley ways, nooks and crannies and architectural gems that Gloucester has to offer. So what do I choose for my daily picture. Well I couldn't decide between two so I'm uploading both! As we were walking down Westgate Street, some people were starting to congregate for a wedding. Although the bride was there, what caught my eye was the bright blue shoes one of the guests was wearing - photo 1.




It being Mothers' day tomorrow, I expected to see a crowd of people round the flower stall at the cross and sure enough, business was brisk. What I didn't expect though was an even longer queue going into Pandora shop, the people who do lovely bead bracelets and necklaces. All I can say is that there are some lucky mums this mothers day!
