365 Day 92 - Another 'snatch' shot
2 Apr 2014 7:02PM Views : 500 Unique : 432I'm really hoping that all things being equal, I will be able to go out and take some proper photos tomorrow as yet again today it has been a last minute snatch.
I met some friends from 30 plus years ago for lunch today. Three of them live locally though we rarely see each other. The fourth who lives a but further away in Thatcham but I see more regularly, joined us whilst the men played golf. The golf course being within walking distance, all piled back to our house for coffee. It was gone 5 by the time they left and still not a photo taken.
When I take photos of flowers, as often or not it is indoors with my macro lens but I wanted to try some outside with my new 24 - 120, wide open at f4, so that I got a natural background but still a shallow depth of field. I was also able to get more of the flower in by using a wider angle. By the time everybody had gone however the light was starting to fade so it meant a pushing the ISO to 400 but even hand held at 1/60 sec, I am relatively happy with the sharpness of this shot. What I'd ideally like tomorrow is a bright but cloudy day so that I can get down on my hands and knees with either the tripod or bean bag and spend some time over this but having looked at the Met office forecast I fear it looks like heavy rain so I may need to rethink unless I can get out there really early!
