Highway to Lago Nicaragua

By annettep38
Many thanks for all your kind remarks and votes on the athletic woodpecker.
Here is something for Alex Appleby and all of you who enjoy trips off the beaten tracks

This is the main road Smile to the Solentimane bay . Nicaragua is very poor so sometimes we felt really awkward in our Tico rental car ( don't tell the company!), when asking for directions politely. You understand immediately that the notion of people visiting the area in a foreign car with a strange accent must be a bit like the visit from the little green men. You can understand Cardenal's stories a lot better once you have seen this, so I was amazed with the warm welcome and the politeness we experienced.
An since I'm hopeless at landscapes and really don't feel like fiddling with them much, here aree two views of the same spot, let me know which one yo prefer.

I think V.2 is my choice, Annette, that road looks pretty rough for a little rental car Smile Carol

V2 definitely, the colours and exposure are better IMHO. Looks like your Land Rover Defender would have been useful over there.

Both are great Annette and have merit. But- if you twist my arm I think V2 wins by a whisker.GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

Annette - thank you so much for this wonderful image of a very beautiful country, which as you say is very off the beaten track (although beginning to catch up now). The people are wonderful and those who have nothing will give you everything. They just don't care about the things which take up our time, but always have time for a smile. Enjoy your travels and I'm looking forward to many more images. Take care.

I had decide on V1 but everybody else prefers V2, but I'm sticking with my first instinct!
Love these leafy lanes.

I am with Kate on this one. I like V1. It's stunning and don't say you are no good at landscapes ever again as it's excellent. What an adventure.

Love the narrative, Annette, you can't beat an off-road experience... Wink
V2 has it by a whisker for me, I like the crop, narrowing the view.
