Thank you, it was quite a big learning curve for me, photographing gannets on Bass Rock.

Missed this one before - this looks like a winner for me.
Have you tried it in a competition?
Do the gannets go for you on Bass Rock or do you wear protective head wear?
Looks worth a visit.

It didn't do that well in a Camera Club Competition. This was taken on my first visit to Bass Rock, most of the ones I have uploaded on EPZ are from my second visit, about 6 months ago. The birds only go for you if you go too near their chicks, but they never dive bomb you. There are thousands of them on Bass Rock so very little space for visiting humans! It is very worth while visiting. One has to book a place on a boat trip so it is unfortuante if you book a date and then the weather is bad, or even worse you can't land because of high waves. I was lucky both times but found it better the second time as I knew what to expect . Ann
