I was in Keswick on Tuesday night, so what better option than a Castlerigg stone circle star trails shot? At this time of year the sky never really gets dark, so you will always be working against a dark blue rather than black sky. The twilight light does help to provide some illumination of the ground and stones.
While making the 35 x 30s exposures I spotted a bright light in the sky and watched as it brightened and faded as it passed by, a surprise (for me) fly-by of the International Space Station.
