Comet PanSTARRS and Andromeda Galaxy Close Approach

By AntHolloway
Last night saw the closest approach (as seen on the sky, not in reality) between Comet PanSTARRS and the Andromeda galaxy (M31).

This image is from a stack of 53 images, each of 15s exposure, f/5.6 ISO 1600.

The camera was on an equatorial mount, tracking the sky, using a 200mm lens.

The background gradient comes from light pollution near to the horizon.

Nicely done. I'm glad you included all your tech info -- very informative, fascinating.
