Christmas Tree - - -

By Melanie_M
The closest I will get this year, it's a W-thing Wink
For the others of you doing the W-thing may it be quiet and for those of you who are not may you find happiness over the coming holiday.
This was taken 3 weeks ago as the sun fell low in the sky, V2 was taken early the same morning, lots of stacked grads again and the wider angle lens.

Hope you make the most of Christmas amongst all that W-stuff, Mel.. my shifts fall nicely this year meaning I am off on the vital days, but doing the W-thing on either side.. Smile

I cannot possibly choose between versions 1 and 2.. they are both excellent.

Super shot Mel, you had better light than me up there, but I wonder if it's the same tree from 12 years ago.

Jeanie got it, it's work. Iwill get my Christmas present later in the year when the work banked over the holiday will give me a week on Mull. Smile

Certainly prefer V1 - the warm lighting and composition are excellent

Hope you don't overdo the w-thing Mel, do you get some time off after the Holidays? You'll need it I think.
Lovely warm light here though I'll bet it was damned cold for you. V2 looks even colder and could be a cracker with some time spent processing, love the starburst.

All the very best my friend, it'll soon be over,

Two lovely images. If forced to choose, I guess I'd go for V1 because I love the warm light on the rocks and the trees.

Hope you still manage to enjoy Christmas despite the dreaded "W" word.

Excellent work as usual. You have captured beautiful lighting. Ted is doing the W thing all over the Christmas period but I'm a lady of leisure. Hope you have a Happy Christmas anyway and have an enjoyable week in Mull.

I hope the big W doesn't spoil Christmas too much. I've got to work this year too.
Many thanks for all your clicks and comments over the last year to my own and the rest of my families uploads.
Oh I nearly forgot cracker shot. I like both versions but think V1 is slightly stronger.

Two remarkable images that testify to your talents as one of the best landscape photographers around.

Why the first one in particular hasn't received the awards it deserves mystifies me.

Have a great Christmas, Melanie.
