Orb

By ardbeg77
Just trawling round the archives and came across this weird specimen. Back to my ususal obscurity with this, I think. My recollection is that this is in the Disney Village near Paris.

Comments and criticism of any variety welcome. but only if you've got an MBE or equivalent .....Wink

Will an MSc in Parasitology do?

The colourful thumbnail attracted my attention. Viewing large I'm still not altogether sure what I'm looking at which is half of this images attraction. The other half is the strong colours and shapes. It's one of those images which would work equally well whichever way up you present it.

Possibly better presented with a thin white keyline on a black background, but as that's the second such comment I've made in the last 30 minutes I'd better stop in case I'm accused by certain malcontents of cutting and pasting my critique.

LOL - thanks Dave. Parasitology will do just fine, ta Wink

I'd deliberately tried to be properly 'abstract' with this, so glad that's kind of worked. And it was the strong shapes/colours that I went for. Agree the presentation might help strengthen it a bit - I'll give it a go. Thanks for your time.

I could examine this for a month and still have no clue as tomhow/where you took it, all irrelevant to the image anyhow , the balance feels a little off somehow, (i've just been playing with croping the white reflection out and cropping into the circle on the right hand side)

I like it anyhow, and it's got me to spend much longer on this that I do the majority of images

I don't want a dong so I'll just say...it grabs your attention and it's a delight to look at.

Thanks Nick, Malcolm.

Nick - I instinctively wanted to crop into the LHS to the edge of the circle, but then you loose the yellow reflection on that side. but I agree it has that slightly awkward feel about it.

I can describe what it is, but I'm not sure you'll be any the wiser! The metal tiles are actually a vertical tower, with several of these orbs attached to the side. They constiute the street lighting in the Disney Village at Eurodisney.

Thanks for your time.

I quite like the subject but agree that it doesn't quite hang together. Personally I'd prefer it 'upside down' relative to the presentation you've chosen.

Thansk Barry. I''m going to have a play with the crop and rotation over the weekend.
