a close up of the jockeys boot they all seem to race with just the toe in the stirrup cant understand why they dont fall off i thought a title such as the jockeys boot or the jockeys toe but ended with the blackwater stud

Lovely image, actually if you watch the races you will in fact see them put their foot more firmly in the stirrup than that. Usually just before they go into the stalls they will do a final adjustment including putting their feet more firmly into the irons. It isn't actually possible for them to race with their foot just barely in like that although they do walk around pre-race like that a lot.
