The sky is beautiful. and the lamp made it as a subject as you said.

Looking at the clouds looks like it will be rain. I like the composition and the horizontal clouds, i think this needs more contrast... the white clouds need more white so making separate between the gray color. Channel mixer is a good way to change color to black and white.

Firstly, there is actually a fairly decent range of tones in your picture. They are somewhat compressed, and can be brought out with judicious processing. You have dark shadows and bright highlights, with a lot of different tones in between.

You are right Nick, Somehow the photo looks darken than the original, i think because of compression when uploading.

I was surprised by the response on this photo. because I really like this photo, regardless over exposure on the boat, i think there is different tonal on the trees. thank you all for the comment and the mod, Smile

Thank you Moira, your modification is really good and i really like the effect of a slightly lower viewpoint. And your choice of square format make this image more better. Tongue

  • One little cloud

i think this is over processed. the compsition is good but the way you process it, make this amazing place looks unnatural.

the trees in v1 is distracting. and i agree v5 must be upload itself not as a variant.

  • Zebra crossing

It is good. the mod by Pam and Willie made the zebra more stand out. Post processing is needed because the result image from the camera is not sharp, even when look at in camera, they looks fine. but truely is not.

I like the color and the content, but as Willie said needs ccw rotation.

hi sophie. i like this. you need sharpening this and boost the contrast and add a little more saturation. it is better if you upload to critique gallery, where there are a lot of people will help you. i guarantee within 6 months you will be better. and that's happen to me.

Paul right, a little too bright. Looks like over contrast or sharpen.

You are right Willie, i added texture effect, now i know it's bad. Sorry, i didn't check the link again, wrong place when paste. this is the link article and upload the original on mod. Thanks for the mod, I see your point, cropping the top side.

Good sugestion from Erick. I hope you are using tripod, 1/52 can caused blur. I am using s2950 and you can get sharpness starting from f7 on scene like this, i believe s4230 not much different.

So, in the future. I suggest you to zoom a little to get at least f5 to giving you sharpness.
Usually in the low light as this. I use shutter speed mode and choose faster shuttter speed where i think, i can handle without tripod (usually minimum 1/80) and zoom a little.

I wonder if you doing denoise on post processing, because iso 800 giving you a lot of noise on my camera and added sharpness is a must. And i see The horizon is not straight, you can straight it in your image editor.

    Hope this help.

  • Between Vines....

My suggestion is to crop the right (the tree) and the left black foliage) side, and using smaller aperture like f8 to get more detail.

Hi Rob, this is awesome. You know, take a picture at weather like this, is my favorite. As you can get wonderful effect without getting flare. Tongue and have seen your pf, your photos are wonderful.

  • After The Rain

Quote: I think I do detect a slight slope to the right which i have deliberately left alone.

"You are right there is a slope, i am not seeing it before Smile"

In my mod I have cloned out the tin can at the LH roof prop as well as the bit of protruding roof section of corrugated iron bottom right. I hope you think it is an improvement,

    "It is an improvement Frank."

but in actual fact i would have liked to ahve seen somebody standing by the lean-to, just at the Lh side toa dd a little more interest.

"Actually there is a man walking between the trees."

    Nice work. "Thank You Frank"

  • Rock of Dunamaise

A really nice photo. I like the composition. But i am not sure about the color especially the orange on the hill. it doesn't look natural, and the bright at the beginning the orange on the left (the sun?) it is totally over exposed. Well I would love to see your dull... Smile
