I recently saw some very inspiring work, linked by the lovely Bekah, involving some high speed flash captures of models being splashed with milk, but in quite a precise way.
Check this out for examples

So, until I can either do a workshop, or practice throwing milk at a mannequin, before finally finding a model who is happy to pose nude and get splattered in milk for a couple of hours, I decided to do what was possible, with the available resources.

Latex clothing helps, as it is *slightly* easier to render paint tossings to a material that has a reflective quality to it. That said, uou need to be creative with the tossings, and have plenty of time to spend blending it all together.

My upload today is what I created yesterday, model is Lola Valentine, and the original dress and neck cowling are the excellent work of Joy Williams, that I have then added to.

I'm off out to buy some milk............. Wink

Very slick (no pun intended), well done. Only place the splatter isn't 100% convincing for me is in front of the hair - and I can't put my finger on why. Might be that you'd expect a bit of a soft shadow on the hair, or could just be the very stark contrast. I'm nit picking though, I couldn't process anything half as well as this.

Thanks - that's an interesting observation, and something I will consider. By the time I finish these projects, I can't see some of the finer or more subtle issues that might need addressing within the overall image - it needs the eyes of epz Smile
Having taken a print, I also feel that the model's skin looks a bit flat and lacking in contrast.

I hadn't thought that, but can see what you mean. I guess the challenge is that the paint has so much depth because of it's reflective nature that it will make most other things look flat by comparison. You might need a more angled, direct light to get around that I reckon.

Loving your portfolio btw - just added you as a favourite!
