The Leaning Towers

By artcubis
View of the leaning towers -

Official Name THE VEER TOWERS
New City Center, Las Vegas, Nevada.

ARCHITECT FOR VEER TOWERS:
Chicago-based architect Helmut Jahn, was a natural choice: Jahn's signature projects include the headquarters of the European Union in Brussels, Munich's Kempinski Hotel and Sony Center Berlin.

Helmut Jahn's design for the two residential high-rises known as Veer Towers is a masterful translation of energy and excitement into physical form: its two 37-story glass towers shimmer day and night. With approximately 337 modern condominium residences in each tower, Veer soars above the city and entertainment district. Inclined at five-degree angles a feature celebrated by the development's name the towers seem to dance with each other.

Colorful, but why are they leaning?

Its only an optical illusion... the towers are not leaning Smile
The architects designed them to appear as if they were...
It feels strange when you are standing below looking up Smile

Very strong and powerful image Catherine. The ' leaning ' illusion ' of the towers is most effective.

Very nice image Catherine, I must admit that the sky is little bit bright. But it's fine, you couldn't selective curve it or HDR it since it is "Nevada" most of the time dry and no clouds and HDR won't be very good on such an atmosphere

Thanks Vivien - great minds think alike Smile
At first, I wanted to cut out the woman and the yellow cab, but decided they definitely add interest to the image and they better stay put. Sometimes these little incidentals add charm and intrigue other times stupid tourists walk right into your picture.
