The power of nature

The arch is no more!

The changing landscape at Porthcothnan Bay, transformed after a storm on January 7th 2014.
Last Sunday was my first visit since those storms battered the North Cornwall coast when it was news that the arch had gone.
To see how much had disappeared shows the frightening power of sea. Yes, the rock systems hereabouts are flawed and Sunday showed how the sea had found those flaws and exploited them.

And yet on so many occasions around the coasts of Britain, we see humans, fools, who completely underestimate the forces of nature and pay the ultimate price - there is only ever one winner!
