Glastonbury Abbey

By AshTree
We visited Glastonbury for our 40th wedding anniversary weekend and loved the old Abbey ruins. So a few pictures here which I hope you'll enjoy. I have added some basic info with each upload, including what's on the sign in V5 which may not be easy to read.

Haven't been around on the site just lately and thought it was high time I made a bit more effort Wink. I'm off to a new camera club tonight, so will do my best to catch up with you all tomorrow.

A fine set of record shots which brings back memories of when I was there. No 2 gets the vote. Congrats on reaching a significant milestone.

Theresa, this is an incredibly stunning series - each one amazing detail and so well-composed. What a noble ruin - beautiful and sad also in seeing it like this. Beautiful photos!

Thanks Christina - yes, it is so sad, I'm glad to see you picked up on that. I actually felt very angry walking round, thinking what a damn criminal Henry VIII was to order the destruction of so many wonderful old buildings - the destruction of our heritage! This was already an historic building when he had it ripped apart to satisfy his arrogance, grrrrr Sad.
