Mangetout Rodney?

By AshTree
Sorry about the corny title, but had to be done Wink. I'm VERY excited because this is one of my first mangetout which I picked this evening. I found eight in total - not sure if there are any more cos they're very well camouflaged with the leaves, lol!!
So, not a brilliant image or anything, just me showing off my veg - the first time we've grown any for about 30 years!

Thanks for your comments on my Lake Garda sunsets - and thanks for having a look at this Smile

Thank you Alvar, Joan, Chinga and Peter.

Quote:'Don't know anything about this vegetable or plant,' Theresa.

Really? They're very popular over here: a flat peapod, which isn't shelled like ordinary peas - you 'eat all' of it, hence the (French) name, mangetout. You possibly didn't get the title either - from a very popular comedy series, Only Fools and Horses - did it make its way across to US television? Read about it here . Del Boy, the chief character, has a habit of randomly using French phrases with no regard to their actual meaning. So 'mangetout' in his vocabulary means 'my pleasure'. (Rodney is his younger brother)
