Coke-head

This is a Rose Chafer beetle taken at Mull of Galloway.

I was there partly looking for peregrine falcons and partly looking for the excellent scones in the tea room - this beetle was an added bonus.

I've not done it justice I'm afraid; the brilliant iridescant green sheen is there but not in the same levels as it was "live" in the sun".

Beautifully caught! I love the colours and the white pollen you've caught on it's head. I've never seen a Cockchaffer, but would love to!

I should add here that my good "friend" Gomez has been posting these pics for me. Alas I am poor and have only "Ye olde dial-up". Gomez has seized the moment and has been establishing his Creative Tag Era, prefering these days to concentrate on this rather than his photography. He needs our sympathy and understanding at this time. If you ever meet him, gently pat his head.

Sorry, mixing my tenses again. Its the time travel, plays havoc with the brain. If only I had one....if someone could just rub me behind my ears instead please...
