Green Veined White

This is a close up of the face and body of the Green Veined White Butterfly. The GVW is the most common butterfly in SW Scotland and often mistaken for the Large (Cabbage) White.

I think these are fascinating close up - you don't realise just how alien they look. Check out those grey eyes and the hairy body!
