Head On

Another pic of a Golden Ringed Dragonfly (incidentally Britain's biggest dragonfly).

This chap was happily perched and content to let me move in as close as I wanted - I'm sure I could have rested my lens on his nose!

Somehow (and I'm still not sure how it happened) I managed to switch my ISO up to 1250 before I took this pic and only noticed a few pics later when I wondered how I was getting such high shutter speeds. I'll put it down to user error - teaches me to keep an eye on the info in the viewfinder.
