You asked for still-life, so that’s what you’ve got.
I sat there trying to think of something to photograph for a while until my eyes were drawn to my spirit level not far from my reach….well I can’t stand to see wonky pictures on my wall. Anyway to me there’s something pleasing about the bubble in a spirit level. Well here it is anyway with some of those plastic protective corner things you get when you buy a photo frame from Wilko’s showing the angle of 45º.

ISO 50

Lighting was small slave flash fired behind white Perspex. The slave flash had a reddish coloured balloon stretched over it to give it this orangey colour you see here.

Like the 'preciseness' of this picture. Colour is interesting too. I'll never look at another spirit level the same again!

this is very neat! I like the angle on this and the precision and details. very clever ,artistic image.beautiful lighting on the liquid capsules.never thought a building tool could look so attractive.

Colours geometrical shapes, it has the lot Rob and as we always used to say as long as something is plumb straight level and square you cannot go wrong...nice idea and beautifully presented.
