Delightful composition and the colour popping works extremely well but the one thing that lets it down for me is the lack of detail in the left eye. I have uploaded a mod which attempts to correct this.

Nicely done, but his left eye, right as viewed is just too dark. You need a bit of light in there, either with the dodge tool if the detail will stand it or, better, with reflector or weak flash fill when taking.
